Jim Crosswhite is a Birmingham, Alabama attorney who joined Fortif Law Partners in 2022. Born and raised in Birmingham, Jim brings a strong connection to the community and a practical commitment to helping clients address legal issues with tailored, business-minded solutions.

Jim earned his B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Alabama and his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as Lead Editor of The Journal of the Legal Profession. His background in both communications and law informs the way he approaches client matters, with attention to legal, business, and reputational considerations.

Jim’s practice includes transactional drafting, grant writing, legislative drafting, corporate governance, and employment law in Alabama. He is known for his granular attention to detail, his ability to develop creative solutions to complex issues, and his focus on building a complete understanding of each client’s circumstances. That approach allows him to provide advice that is specific, practical, and responsive to the matter at hand.

Jim and his wife enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time at Lake Martin.
